Catheter care procedures
Catheter treatment is an act of nursing in maintaining the catheter with antiseptic to clean the tip of the urethra and the catheter outer tube and maintaining the catheter position
Destination:
1. Urinary hygiene
2. Maintaining kepatenan (fixation) catheter
3. Prevent infection
4. Controlling infection
Preparation tools and materials:
Desk / trolly that contains:
1. Sterile gloves
2. Pengalas
3. Crooked
4. Waten stick sterile
5. Sterile cotton
6. Sterile gauze
7. Antiseptic (Bethadin)
8. Aquadest / warm water
9. Korentang
10. Plaster
11. Scissors
12. Gasoline
13. Tweezers
14. Garbage
Implementation:
1. Prepare tools and materials
2. Tell the patient the purpose and objectives of action
3. Put tools and materials prepared
4. Install curtains, drapes existing
5. Wash hands
6. Oles gasoline on the tape and open with tweezers
7. Open bandages on catheter
8. Put on sterile gloves
9. Note the cleanliness and signs of infection from the tip of the penis and the catheter
10. Rub the tip of the urethra and the catheter using a sterile cotton which has been moistened with aquadest / warm water in the direction away from the urethra
11. Rub the tip of the urethra and the catheter used waten + bethadin stick with the direction away from the urethra
12. Balut tip of the penis and catheter with sterile gauze and tape
13. Position the catheter into the stomach and plaster
14. Trim the client and provide a comfortable position for the patient
15. Return the equipment in place
16. Wash hands
